Black Oxide
Kalamazoo Metal Finishers proudly maintains the largest process tank in the West Michigan Region.
Dip/Spin Paint
Cost effective alternative to rack/conveyor type paint operations. KMF offers yellow, black and blue paints.
Phosphate
Go to coating for customers requiring corrosion resistence but cutting the costly aesthetics of electroplating.
Chromates
Perferred pre-paint coating for outdoor aluminum products and electrical components.
Passivation
KMF uses nitric acid and provides both rack and barrel passivation for stainless steel refinement.

Kalamazoo Metal Finishers was founded in 1982 with a commitment to “Excellence in Quality and Service”. We continue to strive to that today by meeting and exceeding our customers’ expectations. We provide zinc barrel plating, tin plating, zinc phosphate, black oxide, passivation and many other related services at a competitive price, while providing consistency and timely service.
We believe in continuous improvement and ongoing staff training to ensure customer satisfaction. Our team provides over 100 years of plating experience. We have very delicate threaded parts and have utilized multiple plating companies in the Southern Michigan area. Our parts do not lend themselves to rack type plating due to size and configuration. All the barrel type plating companies we have tired, ruined our threaded product. We found KMFI through another manufacturer with similar problems. We understand the ability to limit barrel rotation, lot size and timing to minimize any thread damage is a specialty at KMFI. We could not be more pleased with the end results and the team at KMFI.
We are a perforated tubing manufacturer in West Michigan. Many of our parts need to be tin plated for corrosion resistance & fluid compatibility. We needed a plater in he area to meet the volume and quality necessary for our product. KMFI agreed to add Tin Electroplating to their process capabilities and has serves us very well as we have grown with them over the last 10 years.
